While studying Performing Arts at Lambeth College, I developed an interest in business related subjects which were: Starting work in the Performing Arts and Financial Management, during the course I had lots of paperwork and practical work.

I first became interested in Speech and Language Therapy as a career opportunity through my mother’s franchise of Tumble Tots in West Sussex, where many parents in the area were having trouble finding a speech therapist for their child. Having spent my whole life surrounded by younger children I know communication is a vital skill.
I gained an interest in travel during holidays abroad as child. This interest progressed to secondary school where I began to study languages. I received an award from my school for my performance in GCSE French and I am now studying A Level French and Spanish,
Since I was young I have travelled extensively with my family, some of my earliest memories are of our holidays, and I believe these holidays abroad led me to have an interest in languages – French and German in particular.
The depth of culture and history in Europe is vast. I have always been fascinated by language. I first gained my taste for languages as a small child, being brought up bilingually, and spending my summers in Sweden. I later went on to study French and German at secondary school.
I have found great enjoyment in language learning for a number of years and my passion for both French and German goes much further than the A-Level syllabus. I hope that the study of Modern Languages at university can help satisfy my appetite for the particular aspects of French and German that I find the most interesting.
The English language is an invigorating adventure. It has the power to make you believe in even the most incomprehensible things. It has the power to beguile the minds of those who read and listen to it, and by its nature, it is something that we as humans can all relate to.
